Empress #447 is an etched pattern, with exquisite detail, a delicate, arrangement of mum flowers and scrolls which alternates with a medallion. The base glass is yellow and will become fluorescent green in ultraviolet light. The term “uranium glass” generally describes glass with uranium oxide, which glows under a black light. And yes, the glass is considered safe after formal research proving this.
